LIABILITY INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR LODGE USERS
As with most facilities that provide a venue for events such as celebrations, training courses, retreats and the like, the matter of liability insurance for unfortunate occurrences that happen during the event must be addressed. There is liability not only for the owner or operator of the facility but also for the person or organization who is paying for the use of the facility.
The Wasatch Mountain Club Foundation (WMCF), the owner and operator of the Wasatch Mountain Club Lodge, has liability insurance coverage to protect itself from lawsuits when people are injured at an event occurring at the Lodge.
For those wishing to reserve the use of the WMC Lodge, a proof of their liability insurance coverage must be provided.
The user’s liability insurance can be in the form of a home owner’s or renter’s liability insurance policy.
All users must send a copy of the liability insurance policy that will be used for their event to Earl Cook, WMC Lodge Use Manager, 3770 Millstream Drive, SLC, UT 84109, at least one month before their use date.
