This Clean-Up Checklist must be completed prior to vacating the Lodge unless you have agreed to pay for a professional cleaning fee ($200). Copies of blank checklists are located in the “Handbook for Use of the WMC Lodge” located in the Lodge or on this website. Please do not remove the Handbook from the Lodge.
Lodge User Clean-Up Check List
All these items MUST be completed prior to leaving the Lodge. The responsible person MUST sign the bottom of the list ascertaining that all the items have been completed. The signed list should be left on the Food Service Area table for the Lodge caretaker. If the caretaker agrees that all required cleanup has been satisfactorily accomplished and that there has been no damage to the Lodge or its amenities so that no additional charges will charged to your credit card. If possible, have the Lodge Caretaker make an inspection before you leave to confirm your adequate cleanup.
Outside Area
__ Wipe off picnic tables and benches and return them to their original locations
__ Wintertime-return the sled/toboggan to the inside of the lodge
__ Clean up and remove all BBQ ashes
__ Clean and oil (vegetable oil) cooled BBQ grates. Store grates outside by kitchen door
__ Pickup all trash around the lodge (50 ft.) and remove all guest personal items.
Upstairs area
__ Remove all trash and guest/personal items
__ Close all upstairs windows and make sure the outside door is closed securely
__ Sweep floors & stairs
Downstairs Main Area
__ Remove all trash and guest items.
__ Return furniture to original location
__ Wipe and clean all tables
__ Sweep and mop floor
__ Shake rugs and put back in same location
__ Clean up all wood pieces around fireplace and remove ashes
Bathrooms and Hall
__ Clean glass mirrors in bathrooms & glass windows and door in hallway
__ Scrub and disinfect toilets, urinal, sinks, showers and counters (toilet brush provided)
__ Wipe down stall dividers. Both sides please!
__ Empty trash and replace with new trash bag
__ Sweep Floors in bathrooms and hall
__ Mop Floors in bathrooms and hall
Food Service Area
__ Remove all guest items from refrigerator, freezer and shelves
__ Wipe out refrigerator, freezer and microwave.
__ Wipe and clean stove top and ovens. For spills on the oven range please use only water and mild soap. Do not use oven cleaner and do not operate the self cleaning ovens. Please notify the Caretaker if you have a large mess in the oven.
__ Wipe and disinfect the counter tops, tables, kitchen sink and cupboard shelves.
__ Wash all dishes and return to proper shelves
__ Sweep and mop floor
__ Remove all trash & recyclables from the property and dispose properly. Replace trash bags.
__ Shake rugs and put back in same location
Fireplace and BBQ
Confirm that the fire(s) are completely out inside fireplace and outside in the barbecue grills. Ashes cannot be left in the grills to burn out. All charcoal must be extinguished and disposed of in the ash cans provide onsite. Do not put hot ashes or coals in the trash or on the ground. Failure to not dispose correctly of ashes and coals will result in a back charge to your deposit.
__ Interior and exterior ashes have been cooled, removed and disposed of with regular trash
__ Clean and oil (vegetable oil) BBQ grates and store cooled grates outside by kitchen door.
Trash
All trash is to be carried out of the Lodge and deposited in an appropriate trash receptacle. There is a county trash compactor available on the Brighton Road in a covered building next to the Brighton Fire Station. Do not leave garbage/trash outside at night. Recycling is strongly encouraged by the Wasatch Mountain Club. However, Items you chose to recycle must be taken down the canyon with you and disposed of properly.

Signs & Decorations
__ Remove all personal signs posted to direct people to the lodge.
__ Remove all decorations used at the lodge (inside & out)
Vacating the lodge
__ Follow the instructions for turning off the propane heater.
__ Turn off the lights including in the bathroom.
__ Make sure all the doors and windows are closed and locked
__ Double check everything before you leave.
Clean-up Verification
You must complete, and verify everything listed on the “Lodge Clean up Instructions” check sheet. Please sign below acknowledging the lodge is cleaned as per instructions. Leave this sheet for the caretaker on the kitchen table. Once the caretaker approves the cleaning, and there is no damage or theft there will not be additional charges to your credit card for our loss.
