Reaching the Lodge by Road

The WMC lodge is located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon (beginning off of 7200 South Wasatch Blvd, in Salt Lake City) at Brighton, UT.  Drive to the end of the Brighton Ski Resort’s big parking  lot and park to the far right of the Brighton Lodge. The WMC lodge sits just behind the Brighton Lodge, up on the hill in the trees. From the parking lot, walk past several large boulders (or if under snow, up the snow bank) and bear left across a small stream and on a path bearing left and upwards through the trees (5 min. walk). Motor vehicle access is only available to the lodge during summer months, late June – October. For visitors wishing to see inside the Lodge, the Lodge is open once a month for an open house. Please contact the Lodge Use Manager for more details. Please do not attempt to gain access to the lodge without permission. The Lodge serves as the private residence of our caretaker and may already be in use by other parties.

There is limited parking at the Lodge during the summer.  Overflow parking during summer is in the Brighton Ski Resort parking lot west of the Brighton Lodge (not next to it or in front of it).   The U. S. Forrest Service does not permit overnight RV parking in the Brighton Public Areas due to watershed concerns.  Forrest Service campgrounds at Redman and Spruces may have RV spaces available during your time at the Lodge. You cannot drive directly to the lodge in the winter (Approx. November 1-June 1). During the winter, overnight parking for the Lodge is located in the Brighton Store parking lot in Brighton Village (between the signs) for a maximum of 24 hours. The vehicles must be moved around at least once per day for the snow to be removed.
